- I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Communication Studies at
Bowling Green State University with an emphasis in photography in 1983.
- In the fall of 1983, I began teaching at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent, teaching
subjects in speech, drama, journalism, and photography.
- In 1988, I was awarded my Master of Arts from Kent State University in Educational
Technology.
- I began teaching photography full-time in September, 1999. Our Photography III students
exhibit their work locally, at coffee houses, churches, banks, and art galleries, with 25 solo
exhibits installed in local businesses in 2003-2004 alone.
- At the urging of Cass Mayfield, a friend and owner of McKay Bricker Gallery & Framing in
Kent, I started shooting pictures of historic Kent scenes in 2004, adapting them to look
like watercolor paintings and printing them on watercolor paper for sale.
- In the fall of 2005, I printed 2 of my 3 new releases on 100% cotton canvas and also
began offering note cards of my images for sale at the gallery. In addition, I was invited to
be a contributing artist in the Kevin Coleman Foundation benefit and hope to continue my
involvement as long as possible.
- In May of 2005, Images of Kent was featured in an exhibit of work entitled "Images of
Northeast Ohio," along with work from four other area artists~Stephen Hughes, Bob
Mayfield, Jennifer Eddy and Ken Muenzenmayer.
- I enjoy living in Kent and with my wife of almost 24 years and our three children ages 19,
16, and 12.
